DA5000 Pro is a very popular multimedia speaker system and the fans call it as a mini home theater. The package is really huge with 2 boxes. One box with a heavy 8” sub-woofer and the other box contains satellite speakers. The build quality is good with wooden housings and looks good.
The DA5000 Pro is the next version of the DA5000. DA5000 has plastic housings for satellites and the pro version is released with MDF housings. In addition, DA5000 rare speakers are of 6W each where as the Pro has 12W each.
It has a wireless remote which has many options to adjust the sound as per one’s personal tastes. There are separate options to adjust Bass, Treble and Mids. Sound output of each satellite speakers can also be adjusted. Overall it has a very good build quality and decent looks.
Sound Quality – let me preface by saying sweet sounding speakers for the budget with soft bass and good details. An inbuilt sound card is definitely not a good source to check the efficiency of the speakers. It has a total power output of 120W.
Sub-woofer shares 60W of the total power, 8W each front and rare speakers and remaining center speaker. I felt that the center speaker is weak compared to the satellites and produces lame output. However, this could not be noticed unless tested separately. These speakers suit best for music, but it doesn’t mean that it is not suitable for movies and games. These speakers are good for movies and games as well but the bass freaks feel the bass is not enough compared to the Logitech Z5500.
Get a good sound card to make DA 5000 pro to perform its best. The old motherboards are really not sufficient enough to drive these speakers. I suggest using Asus Xonar soundcards - especially, DX or D1.
I cannot give ratings to DA5000 pro as I have auditioned very few multimedia speakers and so cannot judge the rating of the speakers correctly. However, I can say that these perform well in details compared F&D F6000 and Logitech Z906. But when it comes to powerful bass Logitech Z906 > F&D F6000(U) > DA 5000 Pro.

Awaiting reply.
sorry for the late response.
I didn't understand your question properly. If your question is using a soundcard with DA5000Pro, then definitely a decent sound card will definitely makes DA5000Pro a better sounding.
If you are using desktop, Asus Xonar DX or higher versions will compete better with DA5000Pro. If you are running on a tight budget, Asus Xonar DG will be better than on-board soundcard.
You will not face any problem just by hooking it to a soundcard.
Please do let me know if your question has been answered or write me back.
THANKS FOR WRITING...
Could you please tell me to which sources you have connected the DA5000Pro?
If I am not wrong: If you have connected your speakers to setup box then it may not be producing such a decent sound compared to a PC.
Please provide me the details of your connections to guide you better.
Share your experiences with DA5000Pro to help other readers... Thank you
